Episode 1: Introducing the Doing Dyslexia Differently show and your host, Bernadette Haigh. In this short intro, you'll discover more about the show, what to expect in coming episodes, Bernadette's story with dyslexia, and how to get the most out of each episode. Bernadette truly believes that the time has come for us to approach dyslexia differently. Through this podcast, she will highlight many of the facets our children face and the practical steps we can take to support them in and out of the classroom.

Episode 2: It's no secret that many children with learning differences grow up with low self-esteem. Many factors contribute to this, and in this episode, I cover some key things that have helped my son and I, along with others in the Daring Dyslexic community.

Episode 3: Our children are under immense pressure to catch up, conform, and to fit in the box. This unkind reality causes many different mental health challenges for our children with learning differences. In this episode, I discuss some practical strategies we can implement at home and in the classroom to better support our children's regulation and overall mental health.

Episode 4: We've all heard it: sleep is king! Today, I discuss some of the strategies I use in my house to promote positive sleep habits. Sleep is the foundation of our well-being and should not be overlooked when seeking better ways to support our neurodivergent children.

Episode 5: In today's episode, I discuss all things homework, the reality, the battles, the emotions, and the strain it can put on the parent-child relationship. This is often a controversial topic: Do you or don't you? This episode offers my perspective on what's worked well for my son and me. I encourage educators to also jump into this episode to hear the perspective of parents who may come to you desperate to reduce their child's homework workload.

Episode 6: There are often conversations with parents and educators who are new to the dyslexia journey about whether it's beneficial to "label" their child with dyslexia. Today, I want to share my brief but passionate thoughts about what happens when we don't offer a child the dyslexia label. I hope if this is a question you have been pondering, you find this helpful.
